Peanut Butter and Banana Dog Biscuits (GF, DF)

Spoil your dog with these 5 ingredient healthy dog biscuits. Easy and quick to make your dog will love every bite.
These healthy dog biscuits are a great treat for your dog. You can involve the whole family in making them as this is also a kid friendly recipe. Although dog treats aren’t an essential part of a dogs diet they can be used for rewards when training or just as an occasional treat.
Why make your own dog treats
Store bought dog treats as well as store bought dog food is usually heavily processed and full of preservatives. Making your own dog biscuits is a lot healthy for your dog.

This also allows you to customise them to include your dogs favourite foods. Next time try switching out the peanut butter for another nut or seed butter, Or swapping the banana for apple sauce or pumpkin.
Healthy treats ideas
I have a 10 year-old border collie and she loves peanut butter, chickpeas and pears. These homemade dog biscuits include peanut butter, which of course means she loves them.

For the chickpeas I roast them in the oven until they become crispy. Then add to her food for some added crunch. I also fill her kong toy with cut up pieces of pears to keep her entertained for a few minutes. Border collies are very clever which means it doesn’t take her long to figure out how to get the pear out of her toy.

How to shape the biscuits
For the biscuits shape I used a dog bone shaped cookie cutter. For the dog shape i had to improvise and use a reindeer shape. I cut of the reindeer’s antlers and shaped the top to look like a dog ear.

You can use whatever you have to shape them. Previously, I’ve used a variety of different shapes to make these even the rim of a glass works well. The shape doesn’t really matter to the final result. All your dog cares about is the taste.
