How to make these chocolate pretzel brownies gluten free?
Gluten free brownies are simple enough to make simply swap your regular flour for gluten free flour and use gluten free pretzels and you can create delicious brownies in no time.
Where to find gluten free pretzels
For these pretzel chocolate brownies, I used the brand Schar. They have a wide range of gluten free and dairy free products to choose from. I found the bag of gluten and dairy free pretzels in Asda but they are available in most major supermarkets here in the UK. You get 90 grams in the bag and I used 50 grams for the brownies.
What gluten free flour to use?
For chocolate brownies i prefer to use almond flour. Namely because of they texture they give to the brownies. Almond flour also has a slightly nutty flavour which pairs beautifully with chocolate. Here in the UK almond flour is also called ground almonds. They grind blanched almonds into a flour like texture, its not quite as fine as other flours.
What makes these chocolate brownies the best?
The texture! If you love the gooey centre of the brownie the best then these gluten free brownies will blow your mind. The taste is heavenly as we went hard on the amount of chocolate used. Then to top it off we added in the slightly salty pretzels for some crunch to the fudgy gooey brownies. Just try and stop yourself from devouring the entire batch in one go!

Chocolate Pretzel Brownies
- 115 grams Almond Flour
- 45 grams Cacao Powder
- 40 grams Coconut sugar
- 50 grams Dairy free butter
- 65 ml Non dairy milk
- 2 medium Eggs
- 30 grams Dairy free chocolate
- 25 grams Gluten free pretzels i used the brand Schar
- 1 tsp Baking powder
Pre heat oven to 180c. Line a small rectangular baking dish with baking paper.
Add the flour, baking powder, cacao powder and coconut sugar to a medium sized mixing bowl and stir to combine.
Melt the butter in the microwave in 10 second burst until fully melted.
Add the melted butter, eggs and non dairy milk into the dry mixture. Stir to combine making sure there is not lumps of flour left.
Roughly chop the chocolate and add into the batter.
Pour the brownie batter into a small rectangular baking dish.
Add the pretzels to the top of the brownie batter. Pressing them in slightly. Crush a few pretzels up so you can sprinkle them over the top.
Bake the brownies at 180c for 12-14 minutes depending on how gooey you want the middle to be.
Remove from the oven and leave to cool for 5 minutes. Before removing from the baking dish. Leave to cool completely on a cooling rack. This will help them to firm up and be easier to handle. Cut into 6 squares.
Store brownies in an airtight container for up to 4 days. The pretzels on top will start to soften but the brownies will still taste amazing.
