Where are my fudgy brownie lovers at? These chocolate orange brownies will not disappoint I promise!
WARNING these brownies are DANGEROUSY moreish. The struggle to not eat them all whilst they were still warm was REAL. Honestly if I hadn’t needed to shoot pictures of them for this blog post, am not sure they would have lasted more than one day.
Best combination
Chocolate and orange are a match made in heaven. One of my favourite chocolates was a Terry’s chocolate orange. Trying to crack open one of these was have the fun. If your unfamiliar what a terry’s chocolate is, then it’s a solid ball of chocolate that once cracked open separates into segments much like a real orange does.
If you love the combination of chocolate and orange then try these chocolate orange truffles. Super easy and very tasty they make a great snack to cure any sweet craving.

Recreating an old favourite
The smell of these chocolate orange brownies is intoxicating and brings back all those nostalgic memories. Using fresh squeezed orange juice and the zest of that orange too, is what creates the amazing orange flavour.
Type of chocolate is key
Using a darker chocolate will create a richer more intense flavour. The darker the chocolate the better. For this recipe I used 80% chocolate that I actually made myself. Of course, you don’t have to make your own there are plenty of great bars of chocolate out there. Just make sure they are dairy free. Some of my favourites are Aldi’s Moser Roth 85% or if you want a seriously dark chocolate then go for Lindt’s 90% bar.

Make your own Chocolate
Easy to make as it only requires to 3 ingredients. Cacao butter, cacao powder and a sweetener of choice. You can also use coconut oil instead of cacao butter but you will have to store your finished chocolate in the fridge.
Make these paleo and keto
By making your own chocolate you can make this recipe refined sugar free and paleo. To make these brownies keto then simply swap the arrowroot powder for more almond flour and the coconut sugar for a low or no carb sweetener. Providing you divide these brownies into at least 8 then the net carbs for each brownie are low enough to fit a keto diet.
Edge or middle brownie piece
An aged old debate on what one is better. I’m team middle piece I loved the fudgy basically under baked texture of the middle pieces. What’s your favourite?

Have you seen those special brownie pans that have 3 metal rows so each piece can have crispy edges. Personally, I’ve never tried them since am a middle brownie kinda girl. They would make a great birthday or Christmas present for any edge lover out there.

Taste test
As many of you might know my trusty work colleagues are my go-to taste testers. The first batch I made had two much dark chocolate and not enough orange. Although the texture was pretty good the taste just wasn’t right. All the brownies still got eaten as they still tasted nice as a dark chocolate brownie.
I swear if it wasn’t for my trusty taste tester, I would need to work a lot harder at the gym to burn off all the treats I make. Seriously my self-control isn’t strong enough to resist eating dessert for breakfast lunch and dinner.
