Tasty, filling and budget friendly. These tuna fishcakes are a simple, quick and versatile meal to make. Great for lunches or dinner for the whole family to enjoy.

Your girl is balling on a budget and these tuna fishcakes have saved my butt on many an occasion.

Not only are these tuna fishcakes tasty and filling they are very easy to customise. Switching up the herbs, spices and add ins to suit your tastes can keep them interesting. Or switch out the fish for either another canned version to keep cost down or any other fish you like.

Making these fishcakes low FODMAP is how i chose to make them since i can’t tolerate onion or garlic. Feel free to season these fishcakes to suit your needs/taste. Great onion and garlic alternatives are the green part of a spring onion or garlic infused oils. The spices asafetida powder and ground fenugreek have a similar taste. Only use a small amount as they do have a strong flavour and can over powder other ingredients.

Gluten and Dairy Free

Living a gluten and dairy free life can be a little tricky and expensive especially if you don’t like cooking. I definitely find it easier and healthier to cook my own meals. I keep it simple when it comes to meal times. For me this is key and stops cooking becoming a chore.

Am a creature of habit in a lot of aspects in my life especially when it comes to food. Once I find a recipe that is simple and tasty, I stick to it.

Now don’t get me wrong I do like to try new foods and recipes but for when life gets hectic it’s great to have those go to meals as a backup. Am a big fan of meal prepping and do it every week. These fishcakes are a great staple recipe as they keep well in the fridge and still taste great when reheated.
